![]() If you want REAL ACTIVE weather/runways you have to use a true REAL WORLD FLIGHT TRACKER such as then place in the search box the airport ICO then you can see what runway(s) are active at the airport in the REAL WORLD real time, then make the manual runway selections in your head. In FSX both ms and se versions it was sadly set this way and yes the active runway never changes. Look out your window then at the monitor. Not the same picture. ![]() They made a number of attempts to make it "Like Real Flight" but failed by not leaving a roadmap (pun intended) The real weather system FSX uses is RANDOM WEATHER. The one thing most people get wrong is that this is a simulator. ![]() I have seen many simmers come and go over the years. Still working on the taxi bridges, getting off topic now.Hello, i have been at this for many years Owning every version of FSX and brothers and sisters Microsoft has been involved with, and a Session host for over 15 years. Apron links are another story and havent noticed a flatten, but there is no hardened surface with an apron link like with a taxiway. Taxiway auto-flatten is why its harder to make a bridge under a taxiway, holds true in FS9, havent tried in FSX. ![]() Same could be true for flattens, however I have had no ill-effects from large 2 mile flattens.Īnd another trick, you could add taxiways to the new rwy, Taxiways autoflatten to airport altitude, which would reveal the runway atleast where the taxiways connect. Better to make multiple small ones than one large one. Note: Large excludes can cause funky results. Airport backgrounds take more clicks and selections. Flattens are the easiest to make in my opinion, shorter code, easier to place. You could try a flatten separately if you dont want to make an airport background. I honestly didnt see the 2nd image, link too close together or I would have suggested a flatten, however the first image does not show a background to reference in the ADE screenshot.Īlso, I dont think the exclude would do much to lower the terrain to show the runway outside the boundary, but creating an airport background poly around the new runway would do the trick if its set to the airport alt.
